Cyberpunk 2077 vs GTA 5: this video shows how sloppy the game is

Cyberpunk 2077 is available since December 10, 2020. Open world game requires, the latest RPG from CD Projekt could not avoid going through the comparative box. YouTubers had fun putting Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA 5 side by side. In other words, Rockstar Games is still at the forefront of detail and immersion… For now.

With the launch of the PS5, that of Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the most chaotic starts of this year 2020. The fault in particular to completely catastrophic PS4 and Xbox One versions. Festival of bugs, deplorable graphic quality, clipping in abundance, totally empty city, regular crashes, problems with backups …

It’s simple, the current face of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One is painful to see, so much so that Sony has made the drastic decision to remove the game from the Playstation Store. A strong message from the Japanese manufacturer sent directly to injured players and developers of CD Projekt Red.

GTA 5, an unparalleled open world

While waiting for an improvement of the RPG of the Polish studio, YouTubers have fun comparing the title with the current reference of open world games: GTA 5. For good reason, the title of CD Projekt RED has long been considered (wrongly) as a futuristic GTA. In fact, that’s not really the case, since Cyberpunk 2077 is primarily an RPG, unlike GTA.

Nevertheless, the two titles both share certain open world codes : a map combining both urban and natural environment, possibility of stealing vehicles, attacking NPCs, etc. In addition, Rockstar Games and CD Projekt RED are studios known and recognized for their attention to detail and their art of immersing players in organic and living worlds. So which of the two games offers the most detailed open world?

Yououtubeur Enxgma compared the two titles in several situations : behavior of weapons, impacts of bullets in water or vehicles, character’s physics, reactions of NPCs to a threat, start of fire and spread of flames… You might as well say it right away, GTA 5 is more immersive, more realistic, and more detailed in each case.

Like what, GTA 5 may have been released in 2013, the open world of Rockstar Games remains today an example in terms of realism and attention to detail. However, we hope that Cyberpunk 2077 will gradually approach this level of detail, with successive updates.
