You should know … the Google Assistant lands on tablets

Google initially had no plans to deploy its smart personal assistant on tablets. As often, there is a coaster. In a blog post, Google announces the availability of the Google Assistant on tablets with at least Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

However, this availability is not immediate. Initially, it is the tablets in the United States and with the language set to English that are concerned.

At the same time, Google indicates that older Android smartphones will benefit from the Google Assistant. Until now, eligible smartphones have been running Android 6.0 Marshmallow at least and with Google Play Services. It will now be from Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The deployment is done with the language in English in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, India and Singapore, as well as in Spanish in the USA, Mexico and Spain. Other countries mentioned are Germany, Italy, Brazil, Japan and Korea.

A country like France does not appear in this first list, knowing that the Google Assistant is available on smartphones Android 6.0 or more since the end of May.
