A brand new edition of Windows 10 Mobile is out. This is accessible via the Windows Insider program, to which everyone can subscribe simply and free of charge. But what about the novelties of this edition?

No major innovation in this new preview of Windows 10 Mobile, but rather a handful of fixes. The operating system corrects for example a problem concerning the display of tiles on the home screen. The narrator has been revised and corrected in multiple languages. Finally, Microsoft has improved the activation of Bitlocker encryption after resetting the device.

Note that this preview is accessible both in the “slow” mode and the “fast” mode of the Windows Insider. When talking about these two methods of obtaining updates, note that Microsoft also benefits from this for add a new mode to its update program. Up to now, we could download the preversions either in “fast” mode (as soon as they are available), or in “slow” mode (a few days or even a few weeks later, until the preview is fully tested and announced as sufficiently stable to be implemented on a larger scale).

Now we can download updates for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile in “Release Preview” mode. This type of distribution, which comes even later than the “slow” mode, is intended for those who wish to test the new features of future versions of Windows 10 before their final release, without paying the price of stability or nuisance bugs. They will take advantage of the functions and corrections of Windows 10 a few days or weeks before the big updates are released, without necessarily going through the various builds which follow one another at a frantic pace since the beginning of the year.
