It’s only been 3 weeks since the finalized version of Windows 10 Mobile went out. Accessible first of all to users of the Windows Insider program, it is shipped by default on the new Lumia 950 and 550. But it didn’t take long to take advantage of a new beta of the OS, since the Windows Insider program dedicated to smarpthone has already been relaunched.

Build 10586.29 Windows 10 Mobile arrives. First novelty: the update requires less space than the previous ones, which can be very useful on devices with storage space already well occupied. The new beta also offers better stability and increased performance for Microsoft Edge, as well as better compatibility with Silverlight applications developed for Windows Phone 8.1. Theautocompletion has also been improved, especially with regard to the end of URLs in the address bar. This new build also offers better stability of the Bluetooth, a fix for dual SIM devices, and another dedicated to sending and receiving MMS.

Windows 10 Mobile: what’s new for smartphones?

As for the previous preview, just install the application Windows Insider on the smartphone to take advantage of the new beta. Note that the build in question is not yet accessible to recently released smarthones in Windows 10 Mobile. To benefit from this, you need an older device, like the Lumia 1520 on which we were able to test the beta. Microsoft said that the new devices (Lumia 950 / 950XL, Lumia 550 and LG Lancet) will benefit from the update during the week.
