While there was talk of a build 10102 of Windows 10 preview, another one very similar to it leaked directly from Microsoft's servers. Testers of build 10061 (Quick channel) could also be offered this build stamped 10074, without however achieving an installation.
Never mind, it is now available in the wild and especially through OSBetaArchive. It could be the build that Microsoft will offer to testers on the sidelines of its BUILD conference for developers which begins today.
This build 10074 no longer refers to Windows Technical Preview but Insider Preview. A kind of new branch which could mean an approach from the RTM version to the finalized code. Remember that up to the RTM version (a priori understood), Microsoft intends to continue distributing builds as part of the Windows Insider program. This same program should also be used for Redstone.
The preview of Windows 10 called Insider Preview does not reveal any big changes compared to what has already been mentioned with the other recent leaks: an improvement of the Cortana user interface with a kind of mini side menu, a flipping effect 3D with the thumbnails active in the Start Menu, an Aero Glass type effect (yes, yes!) For transparency can be applied to the Start Menu, the appearance of new system sounds, a horizontal slider for sound control, Windows Defender more easily accessible from security settings …
WinBeta made a quick video tour of the changes (compared to the official preview) that could be identified in Windows 10 build 10074:
Now wait a few hours to find out if this Insider Preview will actually be the next update that Microsoft will release to testers.
