Unveiled at the beginning of the month by a tweet from the South African branch of Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet was announced for the third quarter of this year. Since then, some rumors mention the Android 2.2 operating system, a 7-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 1.2 GHz processor, 16 GB of internal memory with a microSD port allowing to expand the memory up to 32 GB .
Standard Sim and Videophone
The Engadget site understands that the product has four buttons and is as thin as an iPhone. The model, called Galaxy Tab P1000, would work in WiFi and 3G (with a standard SIM slot) and would have a 3.2 megapixel camera and a GPS chip. Above all, this tablet would also act as a phone, only using a Bluetooth headset or the microphone provided. Finally, the device would be compatible with video calling, thanks to the front camera. In short, a tablet that looks very much like a giant smartphone.
