Why the government prohibits the certificate of drug-dragging on smartphones

Update – In the absence of an app for smartphones, the Minister of the Interior has offered since yesterday the certificate of special travel as well as proof of professional travel in several formats. Available initially only in PDF, these two documents are also available in .txt and .docx format. English versions are even available for download.

The Minister of the Interior who contradicts the Minister of the Interior is not common. In this first week of confinement, however, he authorized the dematerialization of the certificate of unscheduled displacement, and even considered the creation of an application, before going back to full. In his intervention in the journal of TF1 last night, Christophe Castaner estimated that the paper supports were more protective than digital media.

Not only that smartphones are germ nests, even if they are, and that you should clean them regularly. In the current circumstances, it might seem absurd to come closer to exchange a telephone, and to ask the police and gendarmes to touch notches to check the certificates. I don't want to expose the police and the gendarmes this, explains Castaner.

But when the Minister of the Interior talks about protection, he is rather talking about that of personal data. Smart guys quickly created websites to generate certificates, and some developers even submitted applications to Apple and Google stores. Gold the companies that have proposed to publish these forms are very often companies that want to loot your data.

Another argument played: the generators made creating certificates a little too easy. It is not about making life easier for the French, confirms Christophe Castaner. The goal is that the attestation is a constraint, which invites people to stay at home. Certification or not, confinement must remain the rule, and displacement must remain the exception.

Of which note: to put your nose out, you must absolutely put the certificate on paper. The individual certificate to justify personal trips, and its cousin the employer certificate to justify professional trips, are available on the government website. If you do not have a printer, you can copy it onto free paper. And maybe even if you have a printer, to have time to think twice.
