The On Facebook, announced in early October 2015, will finally be marketed in France. The device, which is in fact the first laptop manufactured by Microsoft, can indeed be pre-ordered on the Microsoft store, as well as on traditional merchant sites.
Available today for pre-order, the On Facebook will not be sent until next February 18. The first model starts at 1649 euros and is equipped with a Core i5, 128 GB of storage space and 8 GB of RAM. It is the only model not to take advantage of an additional graphics chip (dGPU) located in the detachable keyboard. The most powerful device has a Core i7, 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. It is displayed at 2,919 euros. Note in passing that the model equipped with 1 TB of storage space is not available on the French store, and that it seems to be reserved for the American market only. This version of the device is still worth the trifle of $ 3,199. Another device is also missing compared to the American online store: it is the Surface Book equipped with a Core i5, 256 GB of space, 8 GB of RAM, but delivered without dGPU.
Enjoying a 13.5 ″ screen and a stylus, and operating under Windows 10, the Surface Book caused a sensation when it was presented last October. And the first american tests were rather complimentary. It remains to be seen whether the relatively high price of the device will allow it to find its audience in France, or whether it will mainly be a simple technological showcase for Microsoft.
