Apple launched the second generation of its AirPods just a few months ago, including a new H1 chip and a case that can be recharged wirelessly. The Cupertino company could however launch a third version of its wireless headphones by the end of the year, with a new design, new features and a higher price.
The news comes from a research note from Wedbush revealed by 9to5Mac, who claims that AirPods 3 will arrive with several improvements in their design as well as the water resistance. This last point would partly explain the higher price expected for these headphones. Analysts have not specified a specific launch date for the AirPods 3, but they should be released before 2020.
Wedbush also addressed the 2019 iPhones in the same report, indicating that Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones this fall with a triple camera (with ultra-wide lenses) for the iPhone 11 and a dual-lens device for the iPhone 11R. This coincides with the vast majority of iPhone 11 rumors released so far.
Wedbush says iPhone demand is stable and Apple will sell 180 million units this year. According to analysts, demand in China is stable, even if the market is “difficult”For Apple. Finally, global demand for the iPhone, meanwhile, is in “slight increase“.
