watchOS 6 signs the arrival of the App Store on the Apple Watch

iOS 13, iPadOS, macOS Catalina, tvOS 13, but also watchOS 6. For its WWDC 2019 conference, Apple presented the new version of the operating system that equips the Apple Watch. The final version will be released in the fall.

One of the most important announcements is probably the arrival of an App Store on the Apple Watch with watchOS 6. Users will be able to download applications directly from the connected watch, which will gain a little more independence from the iPhone.

At the same time, Apple is bringing more apps like Dictaphone, Audiobooks (reading audio books), a calculator. The applications can be run locally on the watch, without the need for the companion application installed on the associated iPhone.

Among the new APIs, watchOS 6 implements an audio API for streaming that will allow audio streaming of third-party applications via the Apple Watch.

As often, Apple has highlighted features related to fitness and health. A new Activity Trends feature will track various activity data with trends.

With a Noise app, the Apple Watch will monitor the noise levels likely to affect hearing (only the decibel level analysis), with a notification if necessary. For women, a Cycle Tracking application will be used to monitor menstrual cycles.

watchOS 6 also introduces new dynamic dials. However, not all features will be available for all Apple Watch models.
