The video sharing site, Vimeo, is launching today a new version of iOS application which has the particularity of being now adapted to the iPad. On the menu is the possibility to play and record videos, watch trendy videos and have access to the Vimeo Music Store.
After launching its first iOS application more than a year ago, Vimeo will have waited for the first day of the Barcelona Mobile Show (World Mobile Congress) to announce the arrival of the major update of its application which is visible now adapts the iPad. This version “2.0” of the Vimeo iOS application allows you to enrich your recorded clips with music purchased directly from the Vimeo Music Store. The application also allows you to share clips on social networks, add comments and place clips in your favorites so that you can re-view them later without logging in or registering on the platform.
Vimeo has seen its audience triple thanks to their iPhone application.
Vimeo officials said this morning that Barcelona is interested in offering their service on the iOS platform, which has boosted their audience. “We have seen our mobile audience triple since we launched our iPhone application in early 2011”, said a Vimeo developer. "An effect that shows the eagerness of users to film and publish their projects without delay", he concludes.
Main new features of Vimeo 2.0 for iOS:
– New user interface now adapted to the iPad and as easy to use as that of the iPhone. – Integration of Vimeo Music Store directly in the video editor. – Record videos, create projects and browse different categories without logging in or subscribe.– View your subscriptions, possibility to “like” the videos, add them to favorites to watch them later. – Share licenses, add comments, etc.
