According to the Washington Post, a stamp bearing the image of Steve Jobs should probably see the light of day in the United States in 2015. This information appears in the list, not final, of theUS Postal Service (USPS) from the American newspaper. The co-founder ofApple should therefore have his face present on a commemorative postage stamp in addition to historical, cultural or literary figures more often inclined to be immortalized in this way.
This list presents other more popular names or topics. Indeed, the postal service wishes to rejuvenate its image and attract a younger population of users or even collectors. We can for example note the presence of gay rights leader Harvey Milk (murdered in 1978), the basketball player Wilt chamberlain, the TV host Johnny Carson, the famous guitarist Jimi Hendrix or the singer Janis Joplin.
While the work of choice on many names has already begun, Susan McGowan, USPS executive director for stamp services and business licenses, told the Washington Post that the names on the list “are subject to change”At any time.
