The founder MediaTek, which is now expected from high-end mobile SoCs Helio, including the very first model with 10-core processor, has just formalized two chipsets for touch tablets called MT8163 and MT8735.
The solution MT8163 offers a 64-bit processor composed of four ARM Cortex-A53 cores reaching 30,000 points under AnTuTu, a GPU capable of managing Full HD at 60 frames per second or HD at 120 frames per second, dual-band Wi-Fi support and GPS / FM / Bluetooth 4.0 connections. It promises to be fully compatible with the system Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The solution MT8735 generally offers the same characteristics, with mobile network connectivity 4G / LTE more. Compared to competing 4G solutions, it promises 20% more performance while consuming 10% less energy.
Products using these chipsets should arrive within next weeks or months. These will be entry-level or mid-range products.
