Tutorial: Jailbreak iOS 12 to iOS 12.1.2 with Unc0ver beta (iPhone & iPad)

Something promised, something due! Expected for several months, the first iOS 12 jailbreak with Unc0ver for the general public was launched in version beta (rather stable) at the end of last week. Discover in this article a step-by-step tutorial to install Cydia on your iPhone or iPad and take advantage of its thousands of tweaks!

For now, Unc0ver’s iOS 12 jailbreak is compatible with all Apple mobile devices from OS 12.0 to iOS 12.1.2 and equipped with an A8X to A11 processor. This therefore includes the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, 7 Plus, iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad Air 2 and the iPad Pro 1 and 2.

Unc0ver: iOS 12 jailbreak tutorial

First of all, go to Settings> General> iPhone Storage and locate a possible update that may have been downloaded to your iPhone (iOS 12.1.4, for example). Then press “Delete update“.

  1. Download the latest version of Cydia Impactor on your computer (macOS link, Windows link, 32-bit Linux link, 64-bit linux link. Then unzip the folder “”On your desktop, for example.
  2. Then download the file in IPA format entitled “Undecimus-v3.0.0- {Numerodeversion} .ipa”(Around 40 MB) at this address (at the bottom of the page, under Assets, choose the version with the highest number).
  3. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer, then launch “Impactor.exe”And drag the IPA file downloaded in step 2 onto the Cydia Impactor window.
  4. Enter your iCloud username and password (don’t worry!). This information will only be shared with Apple to generate a certificate allowing iOS 12 jailbreak. Wait a few moments for the IPA file to install on your iDevice.
  5. The Unc0ver application should now appear on the home screen of your device. If it displays a message related to a certificate when you try to launch it, go to Settings> General> Device management, choose your email address and press “Trust {your email}”.
  6. Now open the Unc0ver app that appeared on your device’s home screen, press the blue “Jailbreak” button and follow the instructions.

You will normally have to launch Unc0ver 3 times in total to complete the jailbreak process. At the end of it, your iPhone or iPad should restart. Enter your SIM card code and Cydia will then be installed on your phone or tablet! Enjoy the iOS 12 jailbreak! 🙂
