If you live in Belgium or Switzerland and you are among those who first received their new Apple TV 4 this Friday, you may have noticed that your packaging included a Siri Remote different from that presented on September 9th.
And for good reason, these two countries are part of the list of those who will not have access to Siri voice control from their new Apple TV.
But how on earth will you do to do your research on the App Store (cf. tvOS is offered in final version by Apple and integrates the App Store!) Or simply on the web? AppSystem has the solution and you will see it, it’s very simple.
Fortunately for Belgians and Swiss, even if the Apple TV remote control is officially not called ” Siri Remote “, – and is therefore not supposed to take advantage of Siri’s functionality – on the other hand, no material difference separates it a priori from those distributed in France.
A very simple little trick will allow you to bypass (without jailbreak?) The software limit imposed by the Apple.
Once the installation of your new Apple TV is complete and synchronization with your Apple ID successful, open the Settings application from your TV and access the menu ” Accounts As shown by the screenshot below:
Once this is done, go to the ” iTunes Store and App Store “And select the submenu” Location “:
Thereafter, the rest of the procedure consists of changing your location and to do this, open the list of countries offered. Scroll there, then select France. Finally do not forget to activate the option ” Use Siri Otherwise all that work will fall apart.
And that’s all ! Returning to the main screen, you will be able to voice your favorite voice assistant and perform your research online while maintaining secure access to the Swiss or Belgian version of the App Store.
