Tim cook, the CEO of Apple, has just put an end to a rumor that has spread recently and that the apple firm wants to start as an operator MVNO. Asked about this subject during the Startup Fest Europe which is currently taking place in Amsterdam, the big boss of Apple confirmed that the company he runs has no intention of entering this area.
According to him, Apple does not yet have the necessary expertise regarding the network. And he also added that he already likes what operators in general do and that partnership with them is more than enough right now. Especially since becoming an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) requires significant resources, and therefore a huge investment and a lot of time.
In addition, the CEO of the Cupertino company also raised the subject of e-SIM. This is the SIM card directly integrated into the device and which offers the possibility of choosing its access provider and subscribing to its package from its device. This already exists for the latest iPad Pro. However, it is very likely that it will also appear on the iPhone for years to come.
