Tidal Samsung's next fatal weapon to counter Apple Music?

Tidal 1Wanting to enter the buoyant segment of music streaming, the rapper Jay Z, with the support of several international artists, launched Tidal, an offer that plays its differentiation on quality lossless of its offer, the curation of playlists carried out in part by very real humans (and not only algorithms) and the establishment of musical exclusivities.

Despite the good musical fairies leaning on its cradle, the service must face fierce competition in the sector, between the leader Spotify which continues to garner subscribers and the new competitor Apple Music which has the means to play the road rollers.

This could give the idea to its founders to get closer to a large group that could support the ambition to make it a great music streaming platform in addition to other offers. Also, when Jay-Z is caught leaving the premises of Samsung Research America in Silicon Valley, which integrates the division dealing with content strategy, some people wonder if there might not be an attempt at reconciliation in progress.

This is the question posed by Variety, stating that one of Jay-Z's meetings at Samsung consisted of a meeting with Daren Tsui, content and services manager within the Korean group, who also supervises Milk Music… Samsung's own music streaming service.

A partnership (or even a takeover) with Tidal to pre-install the service in Samsung devices could bring a qualitative dimension to the offer of the Korean giant launched at the end of 2014 but which is struggling to establish itself. For the creators of Tidal, this would be the opportunity to give a new direction to the service which, despite its prestigious headliners, has not yet met the expected success and must now deal with the arrival of Apple Music. ..
