Three ways to get a certificate of displacement

Who would have thought, one day, that we would be confining the house for several weeks?

However, since March 17, 2020, the French are prohibited from leaving, with exceptions. Indeed, because of the global pandemic of Covid-19, and as a precaution, the government is calling on its citizens to stay at home.

However, despite this coercive measure, certain situations force us to go out (go shopping, go to work if work is not allowed …).

To meet its needs and make travel possible, the State has set up a mandatory certificate to be completed before each trip.

According to the latest news, it is compulsory until May 11, the date on which containment is planned. It must be present during checks carried out by the police, at the risk of incurring a fine of 135 euros.

It comes in two forms, paper and digital. In this article, we explain how to access and download it.

Certificate of displacement on paper

Until the beginning of April, we had no choice but to travel with a certificate written on paper. Today the methods have changed, however it is still possible to print your objectionable statement.

It is provided by the Minister of Health, you will find it on this page of the government site. You are asked to fill it in as well as indicate the time you are leaving your home.

If you are an employee who is unable to work, your employer will have to fill in proof of professional travel. It is valid throughout the confinement period established in France.

For citizens with disabilities, a certificate of displacement in simplified French (FALC) is also available in printable version.

Certificate of digital displacement

Since April 6, 2020, the certificate of digital movement is authorized in France. It is a practical solution, especially when you run out of sheets or cartridges for your printer. It also helps to avoid wasting paper, especially as it may be necessary for the homework of your children.

Note that this certificate is only downloadable from the government site, and this in order to avoid data theft.

The process is simple and quick to perform from your smartphone since you just have to go to the dedicated site, via your search engine. Then you only have:

  • Fill in your form (name, first name, address, date and city of birth). Do not forget to mark the time and the exact date when you completed your certificate.
  • Bang on Generate my certificate.
  • A PDF opens on a new page, you can then save it in your files.

This will give you a QR code which the police will scan during your check.

The government ensures that none of your information is saved or transferred to a third-party server.

Handwritten travel certificate

You do not have a printer or you refuse to download the drug certificate on your phone? A third option is then offered to you.

Indeed, you can also write the document by hand. No need to copy it in full, you are simply asked to transcribe the most important information:

  • Title of certificate
  • Last name
  • Firstname
  • Current address
  • Date of Birth
  • Place of birth
  • Your reason for leaving
  • The Done on … and time field
  • Signature
