the version with a highly popular 4G modem

With the iPhone 8/8 Plus and X, the Cupertino company has lifted the veil on a new edition of its Apple Watch connected watch. The big news is the integration of a 4G cellular modem in theApple Watch Series 3 making it autonomous from an iPhone to take or receive calls.

Apple Watch Series 3 4GPre-orders started on September 15 for the WiFi and WiFi / Cellular versions and the first feedback suggests that the 4G LTE version represented more than 80% of pre-orders total for the first few days, with consumers abandoning the variant with WiFi alone.

It must be said that the price difference is relatively small between the two versions, the WiFi version being offered from € 369 while the 4G model starts at € 449.

For analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, de KGI Securities, the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 3 is likely to boost sales of the connected watch at Apple. The firm has redesigned its range by removing the Apple Watch Series 2 and reducing the price of the original Apple Watch, updated with watchOS 4, to € 269.
