Available since 2012 via Steam Greenlight, Black Mesa has now moved to the Steam download platform, boasting paid early access when the mod was initially free for Half-Life 2.
In development for many years, Black mesa initially presents itself as a mod for Half-Life 2 aimed at recreating the entire solo campaign of Half-Life first of the name. The project was released in an unfinished version in 2012, for free download on the Steam Greenlight platform.
The mod recently went to the next level, as the Crowbar Collective team announced that Black Mesa is now officially available on Steam at this address. Early access has also been deployed, but this time in a paid plan up to 19.99 euros.
This policy change will certainly allow the developers to finalize the work on the campaign of the game, since it still misses the chapter taking place on the planet Xen. In addition, the multiplayer has been worked on this early access, since it is possible to play in deathmatch and team deathmatch through six cards.
Remember that the old version of Black Mesa is still available for free download on the official project site.
