In the past two years, Samsung has launched two variants of its Galaxy S smartphone, one with a flat screen and the other with a stretched display on the edges. This second version bore the name Edge (Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S7 Edge) qualifying this particular characteristic.
For the Galaxy S8 this year, the Korean group will again launch two variants but the two smartphones will both have a stretched display on the edges. The term "Edge" will therefore be abandoned and it is rumored that the large variant bears the name "Galaxy S8 Plus".
This point has just been confirmed by a new leak of @evleaks on Twitter which shows in an image the spelling chosen for its next reference model. It therefore seems that the mention "+" has been retained to constitute a Galaxy S8 + model, which will not fail to recall the iPhone range with its large model iPhone 6 / 6S / 7 Plus declined for several years now.
