The three Galaxy S21s made official by Samsung are 5G compatible. But a fourth 4G compatible version would also be planned. Identified under the serial number SM-G990, the smartphone has received its Bluetooth certification, confirming a near launch. The Galaxy S21 would be the only one to be available in 4G. It remains to be seen whether this model will be marketed in Europe.
Last week we tracked the launch of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra for you. The three smartphones are still in pre-order for a few more days. And some studies show that the Galaxy S21 is more popular than the Galaxy S20. It is still too early to know if the three new models will be more successful than their predecessors. Especially since some feedback shows that fans are unhappy with certain choices.

If the reasons given are mainly centered on the absence of the microSD port and the abandonment of certain functions related to Samsung Pay, there would also be an underlying financial argument. Despite a price drop of 50 to 120 euros depending on the model, the Galaxy S21 remains relatively expensive: from 850 euros. However, in 2020, Samsung received a warm commercial reception for the Galaxy S20 FE. Less expensive models are therefore more popular.
A fourth version of the Galaxy S21 appears
Samsung would already have the answer to this pricing problem. The Korean firm is expected to launch a 4G version of the Galaxy S21 very soon. The information comes from the Bluetooth SIG databases where an unknown smartphone has been certified. This is identified under the serial number SM-G990. Remember that the serial number of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra are SM-G991, SM-G996 and SM-G998.
The serial number, SM-G991, suggests that it isa less evolved version of the Galaxy S21. Everything suggests that this is a 4G version. Without 5G connectivity, this version, if confirmed, should sell for less. Remember that a difference of 100 euros separated the 4G and 5G versions of the Galaxy S20. So it could be that this Galaxy S21 4G is sold … 750 euros ! Or the price of the Galaxy S20 FE in 5G version.
The certification of this new smartphone is an essential step towards its commercialization. It is therefore highly possible that Samsung will formalize it quickly. On the other hand, the two versions of the Galaxy S21 4G crossed in the basics of Bluetooth SIG do not appear to be destined for Europe. This means that this smartphone would not be available there at first. It remains to be seen if it will be in a second step.
