The 7 best landing spots in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Every round of Fortnite: Battle Royale starts out the same way: You and a group of other players jump on a flying bus before stumbling upon a large island full of hidden weapons, traps, and other loot. Where you land on this island is up to you, but picking the right spot can be the difference between victory and early elimination when you fight to be the last player (or team) standing.

The 7 best landing spots in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Here are seven great map shots to choose from, along with some tips and tricks for getting the most out of the first few minutes of every Fortnite match you play.

Landing 101

Most of the time, you’ll want to reach the island as fast as possible so that you can find a weapon before your opponents do. With that in mind, there are a few important factors to consider. First, your parachute will deploy automatically (and slow your descent) once you reach a certain distance from the ground. So make sure to avoid mountains or high areas that could trigger the parachute early on your way to a landing point.

You can also use this mechanic to your advantage when descending over a body of water – either a lake / river on the map or the ocean that surrounds the island on all sides – which will not trigger the parachute. . This way you can control exactly when it activates.

Another tip is to plan your descent so that when your parachute deploys, you still need to cover some ground as you glide towards your chosen landing point. Otherwise, if you’re too close before the parachute exits, you’ll have to slowly float down, giving your enemies enough time to get there first.

Getting to the ground first is important, but only if you choose a good spot to land. If you’re playing on your own, that usually means choosing a quieter, less developed area where you’re unlikely to run into an opponent until you can find a weapon. You can also wait until the last second to jump off the bus; most people leave early, so you’re less likely to run into an enemy if you hold out a little longer.

If you’re playing with a team, however, you’ll probably want to head to a more popular area. Cities and other developed parts of the map usually contain more weapons, which you’ll need if you’re working with a whole team. Hope your extra numbers will also help you take out opponents who land in the same area.

7 great landing spots

Now that we’ve covered the basics, here are seven locations across the island to aim for when you land. If you can do it at any of these, it should help you gain the upper hand in Fortnite Battle Royale.

1. The motel west of Anarchy Acres:

It’s a great secluded location that also has enough loot to arm an entire team. For best results, try landing on the roof and smashing your way with your pickaxe.

2. The watchtower north of the Wailing Woods:

If you are playing on your own head for this secluded spot in the upper right corner of the map. You should find several weapons and other loot. From there you can also go west to pick up some more material. Make sure to keep an eye out for an ice cream truck parked on a hill, where you’ll find a few more crates.

3. The swimming pool near the inclined towers:

Head towards Tilted Towers (located in the center-left of the island) and veer slightly more to the left to find this landing spot. Keep your eyes peeled for an enclosed pool, and land nearby to find plenty of weapons, gear, and chests. Once you are supplied, you can return to the Tilted Towers to fight other players.

4. Wet mud:

The lower right corner of the map is covered with water, which slows down players trying to pass through. This means that you won’t encounter a lot of enemies on this part of the island, which makes it a good place to start the game. Once you land, look around for crates and chop down trees for materials. You can also head to the lower left corner of the Mire, where you should find up to five crates full of gear near a tower of stacked cars.

5. Snobby Banks:

The bus always flies over the island from the east, so if you can get to this spot on the west shore, you shouldn’t have a lot of competition at first. There are also several houses located around the Snobby Shores where you can find weapons and other equipment. Also, don’t forget to search the basement of each building for additional loot.

6. The hidden tunnel near Tomato Town:

Located in the center-top-right region of the island, Tomato Town is a popular place to land. This means that you will have to face a lot of competition if you go straight through town, but you had better head south where several roads converge. Look for a hidden tunnel where you will find a few crates before resurfacing in Tomato Town with the equipment you need to take from your enemies.

7. Southeast of Dusty Depot:

Dusty Depot is another popular spot in Fornite, which means you should avoid landing there at all costs. Instead, head southeast of the depot and look for a pair of buildings with chimneys. There you should find up to eight chests full of weapons and other gear to help you win the game.
