There are many ways to make your Android look and feel amazing, but one of the easiest is by downloading an Android theme. Below, we’ve put together a list of what we believe are the best Android themes for a number of different launchers, all of which are free to install and use.
Ocean Dream for ZenUI Launcher
ZenUI is a powerful launcher for theming, because it doesn’t require any extras and it’s not overloaded with bloatware. While its themes aren’t the most comprehensive – its icon packs typically cover only the most basic apps (and often not even all of the ones that come pre-installed) – but they’re consistent nonetheless.
The Ocean Dream icons are all cleverly designed to fit into the theme. The messaging app icon, for example, looks like a message in a bottle. The browser app icon, on the other hand, is a speed camera.
It’s beautiful, I just wish its icon packs were more extensive. Don’t miss the fall theme either.
Glasklart for the Apex Launcher
Glasklart has many unique icons , even for slightly less common apps like Anututu and Greenify, and the overall design is fantastic. Even those that aren’t built from the ground up aren’t out of place here.
The apps in the app drawer are like ghosts, drawn in a single shade of white. Their names are hard to see against the gray background, but remove them from the app drawer and on the home screen and they’ll look great. The app icons are subtly but expertly shaded, giving them a soft and chic appearance. With its white and silver icons against a purple palette, Glasklart comes highly recommended.
White for CM Launcher
White for CM Launcher is beautiful. There is real confidence in the minimalist wallpaper; a simple winter scene of a tree and a person walking away from it. But it’s the postcard-style app icons, including the business card-style address book icon, that steal the show.
You can also get a lot of themes for the CM Launcher, ranging from garish to understated. In my opinion, it’s White’s two-tone winter scene below that looks the best, though.
Pinko for APUS Launcher
Pinko has long been a favorite on Android thanks to its minimalist icons and attention to detail. Pinko turns all your apps into circles that have all been colored and carefully designed. The dialer app looks like the mouthpiece of an old-fashioned phone, and the icons for messaging and all apps are just clusters of circles.
It doesn’t make the interface much different, nor does it use fancy animations. It just creates an almost retro style, which looks more polished and sophisticated than a lot of other competing themes.
Windows Mobile 95 KLWP Theme
Many older nerds have fond memories of Windows 95 – the operating system that graced our first personal computers in all its majesty. Now you can relive the glory days on your smartphone with this fantastic theme from redditor ThemeThief, complete with old school icons and visuals for all modern functions of your smartphone, and even the dreaded Blue Screen of Death in accident.
To use this theme, you will need KLWP, a live wallpaper creator at address that allows you to edit and run custom Android themes. Then you can grab the Windows Mobile 95 theme here .

Make your own theme
While there are many great themes out there, if you want something that is really unique and your own, the best way to get it is by creating it. We also have to mention that one of the more popular launchers – Nova, for example, does not have theme support, while other launchers that do may have annoying ads or unwanted “extra features”. . So a DIY theme is never a bad idea.
How do you go about creating it? The easiest way is to find wallpaper and icons to match an aesthetic. These days, it’s pretty easy since most icon packs come with themed wallpapers. However, you can experiment with apps like Muzei, which offers live wallpapers or Tapet, which generates wallpapers. One of my personal favorites is taking screenshots from the game of Monument Valley and using them as wallpapers, combined with minimalist pastel colored icons.
