In the United States, unwanted calls are as frequent as what we know in France. In an attempt to limit these disturbing calls as much as possible, two competing operators have decided to take matters into their own hands for their subscribers.
T-Mobile and AT&T launch authentication service
The announcement was made yesterday, two American operators will launch a call authentication service. Operators will be able to tell if the call to your phone is a spam call or if not.
It is a joint service that T-Mobile and AT&T will deploy on their networks. This service primarily targets "robotcalls", a real scourge in the USA. These are automated calls with a pre-recorded message which starts when the correspondent hangs up. Robotcalls are mainly used for insurance promotions, exclusive discounts in stores, restaurant opening announcements. ..
According to the two operators, these calls become problematic
People can't take it anymore, says T-Mobile and AT&T. In 2018, automatic calls with pre-recorded messages represented 48 billion phone call. On average, an American can have up to 150 calls of this type per year!
The initiative was presented to the Federal Commission for American Communications. She was immediately accepted!
