Starting with version 5.3, Apple’s Swift Playgrounds development environment will also be available to Windows users.
On the official Swift.org blog, Apple reports that Swift 5.3 will bring several performance improvements. Add that the development platform will also be available for Windows.
Originally created only for the Apple ecosystem, Swift first opened Linux. Now it is also preparing to arrive on Windows PCs. The doors are therefore open to the development of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS apps, even to developers who do not have Macs.
At the moment, we don't know what the other new features will be. We will learn more when Swift 5.3 is released, likely in June after WWDC 2020.
