subscribers leave Free for Orange, Orange for Free, etc.

Ariase publishes its Observatory of Internet Terminations. It is based on 85,000 terminations carried out in 2015 using the termination letter generator offered on the Ariase and Lettre-Resiliation.com website. The operators Orange, SFR, Free, Bouygues Telecom and Numericable are concerned.

All operators combined, the main reason for termination remains, as in previous years, the attraction of competition (30.55%). This may be the attraction for a price promotion or to benefit from a favorable development in eligibility (ADSL unbundling, switch to optical fiber).

Numericable is always a notable exception to the rule since it was first left for reasons of relocation which concern 21.35% of the letters generated for all the ISPs. Over one year, the cause of termination that has progressed the most is that of contractual and personal reasons (18.19%).

On the other hand, it is stable on the side of terminations for technical problems (12.52%), while for 17.39% of the letters, it is a question of a generic mail without particular reason for termination.

Below, the main reasons for termination for each ISP in particular, and where the future former subscribers of the operator in question preferentially go.

In its analysis, Ariase writes that in 2015, " the availability of fiber optics and Orange's aggressive promotions have convinced many Internet users to change operators and choose a Livebox Internet offer. "
