According to new data the firm Omdia, the iPhone XR was the best-selling smartphone in the world for 2019; 46.3 million units have been sold. As for the second best-selling smartphone in 2019, the iPhone 11, thehe firm reports that 37.3 million copies were sold over the same period; or 9 million less than the iPhone XR.
The number ofiPhone XR sold in 2019 (46.3 million units) is slightly more than double the number shipped in 2018 (23.1 million units). The third best-selling smartphone in the world in 2019 is the Samsung galaxy a10 (with 30.3 million copies); the fourth, the Samsung galaxy a50 (24.2 million); and the fifth, the Samsung galaxy a20 (19.2 million). TheiPhone 11 Pro Max was the sixth most popular smartphone with 17.6 million units. Then we find theiPhone 8 with 17.4 million copies.
However, the cabinet Omdia estimates that iPhone sales fell 4.6% in 2019 compared to the previous year (5.1% in 2018). But despite this year-over-year decline, which is caused by rising iPhone prices according to Omdia, Apple continues to be at the top when it comes to sales.
