If you are a regular reader of World is Small, you no doubt know that Spotify filed a complaint against Apple to the European Commission for abusive competition linked to a dominant position. The music streaming giant also denounces the 30% commission that Apple takes on each transaction of theApp store, and the way in which the apple brand promotes its applications to the nose and beard of its competitors.
Apple recently replied, saying that without the App Store, Spotify would be almost nothing. Following this scathing response, the Swedish firm granted an interview to the website Variety, and ruled:
“ All monopolists will suggest that they have done nothing wrong and will argue that they have the interests of competitors and consumers at heart. Thus, Apple’s response to our complaint to the European Commission is not new and is entirely in line with our expectations. We filed our complaint because Apple’s actions harm competition and consumers and they are a clear violation of the law. It’s obvious that, for Apple, Spotify users on iOS are Apple customers and not Spotify customers, which is our problem with Apple. We respect the process that the European Commission must now undertake to conduct its review “
Spotify has also set up a site called ” It’s time to be fair play », Where he once again denounces the abuses by Apple.
