Image 1: Spartan: Internet Explorer gets a makeover in picturesThe current Windows 10 beta still has the old version of Internet Explorer.

During the year, Windows 10 will be released in final version (so far, only a few more versions intended for developers and experienced users have been delivered by Microsoft). Among all the new features that the operating system is about to experience, there is one that we too often forget, and which nevertheless turns out to be most relevant: Spartan. Under this code name hides in reality a total overhaul of the browser Internet Explorer. Besides, it’s still unclear whether IE will continue to be called that, or if Spartan is destined to succeed it. The Neowin.net site has managed to get its hands on a preview of this “new” browser, and here is what comes out.

Spartan is therefore the name of the version under development ofInternet Explorer 12. As we can see in the screenshot posted above, with its super-sleek design, the browser is more and more like its two main competitors, Firefox and Chrome. Spartan incorporates new buttons located next to the address bar, which allow you to refresh the page (on the left), but also to share a web page (on the right) or to consult it more easily using a single reading mode ( to the right). The whole thing is displayed in a window devoid of “edges”, like the rest of Modern UI applications in Windows 10. All the buttons and other possible settings are therefore displayed at the top of the browser, and nothing appears at the bottom of this last.Image 3: Spartan: Internet Explorer gets a makeover in picturesNote that the captures posted by Neowin.net have absolutely nothing to do with the capture posted two days ago by the site BGR, whose authenticity was quickly called into question. Finally, if some rumors indicate an integration of the voice assistant Cortana even within the browser, this is not the case here. But still according to Neowin, Spartan is proving to be rather fast for the moment, although no bench has yet been carried out. Will we be entitled to this new edition of Internet Explorer in the next beta of Windows 10, which should be much larger than the technical preview released late last year? Answer on January the 21st next, date on which Microsoft will present its new OS to the press on its Campus.
