Already available as Mac OS X compatible software, the Sparrow email client is now available in an iPhone application. The new “mail-killer” application?
In development for months, the famous Sparrow email client is now available as an iPhone app. The application interface takes somewhat the Facebook idea for iOS since the menu is found on a side panel.
From a functional point of view, Sparrow for iOS supports IMAP (Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, MobileMe) but not yet POP accounts.
It nevertheless offers a unified reception box, the attachment of attachments in a simplified way (images and videos), navigation in conversations, support for gestures, an e-mail refresh function by swiping your fingers down. screen, alias support and local and online search. The new Sparrow application proves to be very effective due to its very easy-to-use side and on-board functionalities. We regret, however, that the application does not yet support POP accounts, push notifications and a translation into French (only available in English). Finally, the developers of Sparrow do not intend to stay there and already promise to continue work around their application which should soon include a translation into several languages, a landscape mode, a web browser and possibly other features.
