Sony continues to want to compete with Apple and its MacBook Air in the ultra-portable market. The Japanese manufacturer has just unveiled a new ultra-compact laptop which should be on the market at the end of July. With only 1.18 kg for particularly small dimensions (210 x 16.6 x 330 mm), it does not skimp on the performance part either: Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card, Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz , 8 GB of DD3 and 256 GB of SSD.
A remote multimedia station
Of course, WiFi, 1.3 megapixel webcam and Bluetooth sound available, as well as an HDMI 1.4 port and Dolby Home Theater speakers. On the OS side, the Z range will run on Windows 7 Professional. Sony has however reserved a surprise concerning its Z range: a remote multimedia station, the Power Media Dock, including a Blu-Ray player, 3 USB ports (including 1 USB 3.0 port), an AMD Radeon HD 6650M 1 GB graphics card, a Ethernet port as well as VGA and HDMI outputs. No price has yet been formalized.
