Sony presents a robotized home assistant

Sony has released a video showcasing its own personal home assistant. Like what Apple, Google or Amazon offer with connected voice assistants that find their place in the users' lounge, the Xperia Hello will offer similar functionalities.

But to go further and stand out, the Sony assistant uses a 4.55-inch screen as well as a kind of animated and robotic head. A sphere equipped with two LEDs representing eyes makes the whole thing quite attractive.

The Xperia Hello also has a motorization system allowing it to turn and orient itself towards the user, a camera located on its head allowing to follow the faces and to propose calls in videoconference.

Sony says its assistant responds to voice, gestures and facial expressions. He will be able to take photos, monitor the house in the absence of the user, make voice and video calls, give research information on the Internet, recall calendar items, take notes …

If the assistant presented is more attractive than those already offered on the market, its price will be enough to dissuade users. Charged more than 1300 dollars, the Xperia Hello is only offered in Japan for now and it may well not cross borders.
