Some iPhone XS and XS Max users certainly started badly on the weekend. Indeed, some of them encounter a concern with their precious. This concern concerns recharging.
Recharge concern on some iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
Generally, when you plug an iPhone into a charging cable, the screen will turn on when the charging cable starts to show and show the battery indicator on the lock screen. However, this is not (always) the case … for iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max owners, at least. Indeed, some have noticed that their smartphone does not start to charge when the Lightning cable is connected when the screen is off. Affected users note that they must make sure to turn on the screen or / and disconnect and reconnect their cable for charging to begin.
YouTube channel UnboxTherapy tested several iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max demonstrating the various problems encountered. In addition, a whole flood of comments is published on Reddit and Apple support forums. For the moment, no one knows if this is a hardware or software problem. However, this concern certainly does not seem to be present on all iPhone XS and XS Max models.
It could therefore be that it is a hardware problem related to some iPhone XS or XS Max or an intermittent firmware problem. Some of the people affected by the problem say that the iPhone works normally with wireless chargers. Others indicate that the restricted USB mode is the cause. However, the security measures imposed by the restricted USB mode should in no way affect the charging process of the device. Therefore, it will be necessary to wait for Apple’s words on the matter to find out a little more.
