Benchmarks for the new Snapdragon 888 have just been leaked. They clearly show that Qualcomm’s new SoC is the most powerful mobile processor of 2021.
If Xiaomi unveiled the Mi11 this week, the first smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 888, other models are also in preparation from the competitors. Among them, we can cite the Galaxy S21 (for the model marketed in the USA), the OnePlus 9 or even a model that had been a bit under the radar until now: the Vivo IQOO 7. It is the latter that interests us here. Of benchmarks of the smartphone have just leaked on the Web and show how Qualcomm’s SoC engraved in 5 nm can change the game next year in terms of performance.
The benchmarks in question were carried out using AnTuTu and they are final. Thus, overall, the application delivers a score of 752,935 points on the IQOO 7. A score that we can for example compare to the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, which benefits from a Kirin 9000, an SoC also engraved in 5 nm. Still under AnTuTu, the smartphone gets on its side a score of 698 654 and is well behind its competitor.
The Snapdragon 888 is the most powerful SoC, both on the CPU and GPU side
If we are only interested in the benchmarks of the CPU on the one hand, and those of the GPU on the other hand, the gap between the two models is still felt. The IQOO 7 CPU scores 200,616 points, while the Kirin 9000 CPU benchmark scores 189,981 points. As for the GPU part, the IQOO 7 delivers a score of 340,539 points, while the Kirin 9000 of the Mate 40 Pro obtains 340,539 points.
|AnTuTu benchmarks||IQOO 7 (Snapdragon 888)||Huawei Mate 40 Pro (Kirin 9000)|
|Global||752 935||698 654|
There remains an important element to know now: energy consumption. The Kirin 9000 is doing remarkably well on this point, since during our tests of the Mate 40 Pro, we noted an autonomy ranging from 2 days to 2.5 days. Will the Snapdragon 888 do as well? Response at the start of the year.
The IQOO 7 should be presented on January 11, 2021. Vivo has just officially arrived on the French market with the X51, it is not known for the moment whether the smartphone will be distributed in France or whether the brand will prefer to attack other segments of the world of telephony.
