Sets will be available when it's ready

With Windows 10 RS5 preview, testers of the Windows Insider program have already discovered the feature called Sets. Its overall purpose is to allow the organization of elements of the same project – or even the organization of several projects – by using an interface with tabs for this.

This use of tabs brews web pages, research documents, files and more applications. Beyond using in a single window, Microsoft wants a system that takes into account all applications.

Sets integrates the Timeline (or Chronology) functionality of Windows 10, which is of great importance since Microsoft wants to make Timeline a tool for connection and continuity across Windows 10, Android and iOS devices.

W10-Sets-TimelineThanks to Timeline, Sets can notably be found. By using Microsoft Graph, it also becomes possible to restore groups of tabs for activities that have been previously carried out. In addition, the keyboard shortcut Alt + Tab allows you to switch between the tabs of the Sets.

However, if Sets is discovered in Windows 10 with the code name RS5, Microsoft indicates during its Build conference that there is no established availability date. In other words, Sets will be available when it is ready and completed.

For this, Microsoft turns to comments from Windows Insiders to improve and evolve Sets, as well as to developers. For UWP (Universal Windows Platform) applications, they will immediately be compatible with Sets. For web applications but also Win32, support for Sets will require " some simple changes. "
