Aimed at workers, adventurers or simply the clumsy, the series of reinforced phones from Samsung is about to see the arrival of the Galaxy XCover Pro which has just been announced by the Scandinavian industry.
Little misunderstanding at Samsung whose Scandinavian branch issued a press release on the sidelines of the CES detailing this Galaxy XCover Pro before quickly deleting it.
The reinforced smartphone with removable battery by Samsung: Galaxy XCover Pro
For those who find that recent smartphones are too fragile, Samsung has designed the series of XCover, rugged, water-resistant phones able to endure slightly more difficult conditions than the rest of the range. Not everyone is so careful as to be able to follow the instructions necessary to avoid breaking their Galaxy Fold. Particularly intended for the working world, the Galaxy XCover Pro offers protection against water and dust IP69 and resists 1.5 meter drops.
In terms of features, unlike the old “Active” series which were reinforced versions of the Galaxy S series before disappearing with the S8 Active that we had tested, the Galaxy XCover are midrange, like the Galaxy A, like the A51 and its 4 photo sensors. Galaxy XCover Pro has SoC Exynos 9611 octocore, of 4 GB of RAM and of 64 GB of storage expandable with a card microSD. It carries a battery of 4050mAh removable. It offers an amazing LCD screen of 6.3 inch of a definition of 2400 x 1000 pixels while most of the brand’s smartphones have OLED screens.
It offers two cameras on the back, 8 and 25 megapixels, as well as a front camera 13 MP through a punch in the screen. It will be surprisingly delivered under Android 9 Pie and not under version 10. These little oddities in the technical sheet may explain the withdrawal of this smartphone from the press release. Or maybe it’s because its price 499 euros or its release date at January 31 in Finland are not correct. It will be necessary to wait, but in any case this Galaxy XCover Pro will be released in Europe in the coming months.
