Since the announcement of HP to separate from its PC division, speculation has been rife and rumors attributing to Samsung the intention to acquire it have persisted. They have just been officially denied by the Group CEO.

The latter believes that such a takeover would not make sense. There is too great a difference in size between the two PC entities of the groups; Samsung sells around 10 million units in a year, barely what HP sells in a quarter. A difference that makes it almost impossible to set up economies of scale and synergies between the two companies.

Today it is the names of Acer and Lenovo which come up most frequently but the poor results of the sector may complicate the situation for HP which claims between 10 and 12 billion.
