The Exynos 2100, the next processor from Samsung supposed to equip the Galaxy S21, is starting to make the talk. The famous Ice Universe leaker has just published a first benchmark which shows a slight advance over the Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm.
It’s no secret that Samsung is currently working on the development of its next Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra. As is the tradition with the manufacturer, the American models will carry a Qualcomm chip while the European versions are equipped with a Exynos home processor.
For this 2021 vintage, American users will therefore be able to take advantage of the Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm’s latest SoC. In Europe, it will be necessary to be satisfied with the Exynos 2100. For many years now, customers have regularly complained about this practice, assuring that Samsung sells smartphones with Exynos chips inferior to Snapdragon processors.
This year however, the situation could turn to the advantage of the Exynos 2100. While waiting for the official presentation of the chip on January 12, 2021, the first benchmarks of the beast are starting to leak on the web. So and according to the results published by the famous leaker Ice Universe, the Exynos 2100 seems to be faster in terms of raw performance than the Snapdragon 888.
According to the insider, the CPU peaks at 1089 points for single-core performance and 3963 points for multi-core. This is a rather considerable advance compared to the previous benchmark published on Geekbench, where the chipset reached 1006 and 3059 points respectively. According to official Qualcomm data, the Snapdragon 888 is expected to reach 1135 points in single-core and 3,794 points in multi-core. We note all the same a clear advance of the Snapdragon 888 in single-core compared to the Exynos 2100.
The technical sheet of the S21 Ultra appears on the web
As a reminder, a recent leak revealed almost the entire technical sheet of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Thus and according to the WinFuture site, the most ambitious model of the range would embed a huge 6.8 ″ AMOLED screen with a definition of 32000 x 1400 pixels and should offer an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz, like what the Galaxy Z Fold 2 offers.
In addition, the German media has confirmed the presence of the Exynos 2100 for European versions and the Snapdragon 888 for American models. The two processors would be accompanied by 12 GB of RAM, and 128, 256 or 512 GB internal memory according to the different grinds. On the battery side, WinFuture evokes a massive battery of 5000 mAh. To be confirmed during the official presentation of the Galaxy S21 expected in early 2021.
