RTX 3070 SUPER and 3080 SUPER: Nvidia could soon present its new cards

Nvidia could give its RTX 30XX range a boost in the coming months. Indeed, we are talking about the RTX 3070 SUPER as well as the RTX 3080 SUPER, which are the subject of some leaks. They should arrive after the RTX 3060 and RTX 3080 Ti.

On January 12, Nvidia will hold a conference on the occasion of CES 2021. The manufacturer may well take the opportunity to unveil its new graphics cards: the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3080 Ti. But today it is the RTX 3070 SUPER and RTX 3080 SUPER which are starting to make people talk.

Indeed, twittos Kopite, who has already hit the nail on the head, talks about the upcoming release of the 3070 and 3080 as a SUPER model. This is not the first time that such cards have appeared in the news and we can expect to see them. land on the market in the coming months, if Nvidia is working well on it.

The RTX 3070 SUPER would be equipped a new GA103 GPU, which would provide an appreciable performance gain. The RTX 3080 SUPER would adopt the same characteristics as the normal RTX 3080, except that it would have more VRAM under the hood.

A little rushed refresh?

As you will recall, the first Nvidia GeForce RTX 30XX graphics cards were presented in September 2020. The RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 have since been released … but marketing is not easy. Indeed Nvidia is experiencing huge restocking issues, preventing many buyers from equipping themselves.

The situation is such that many users have not yet been able to get hold of the classic RTX cards. The arrival of these SUPER models could therefore be a godsend… provided of course that the cards are available as soon as they are released. On the competition side, the situation is not rosier. AMD has released its RX 6000 series, which suffers the same supply concerns, not helped by the coronavirus crisis.

In any case, Nvidia should present its next new on January 12th. For SUPER models, we will have to wait a little before knowing more.
