ROG Phone 4: the smartphone shows itself in a first stolen photo

The ROG Phone 4 should logically be released this year and the first leaks are already starting to appear on the net. A stolen photo thus gives us the first information on the telephone which would be called… ROG Phone 5. It is not really a surprise, the number 4 being often skipped by the Chinese manufacturers.

ROG

The ROG Phone 3 hit a big blow in 2020, becoming the benchmark product for power. Asus intends to do the same thing again in 2021 with a new smartphone at the forefront. Today we have a first image of what could be the ROG Phone 4, or rather the ROG Phone 5.

It is an image spotted by the 91mobiles site that is now talked about. We can see a new ROG Phone from Asus, which is not one of the previous models. Note that the terminal adopts the same design codes as its predecessors, but tweaks a couple of little things slightly. For example, the ROG logo is no longer in the center of the back cover, but relegated to the side in favor of a strip that could be backlit. The triple photo sensor is back and we see the arrival of a large red button on the edge, at the bottom left of the photo.

Very interesting point, a 05 is engraved on the back of the product. This might suggest that we would go straight from ROG Phone 3 to ROG Phone 5. This is not surprising, given that the number 4 is associated with death in Chinese culture. It wouldn’t be the first builder to skip it. OnePlus has not never released OnePlus 4 example.

A high-level technical sheet

The ROG Phone 4, or 5, should once again be an example to follow in terms of power. It should be equipped with Qualcomm’s new processor, the Snapdragon 888, as well as a Full HD + panel of 144 Hz. Its battery should be 6000 mAh and the phone should benefit from a fast charge of 65 watts to recharge. completely in less than an hour. We will have to wait a little longer before having official information from Asus, but there is no doubt that the next ROG Phone is already well advanced in its design.
