According to 9to5Mac, the next generation of 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air could be equipped with a Retina display. The site declares that the parts would be delivered from the second quarter of 2013 in order to allow the launch of this Retina version on the market in the third quarter of the same year.
Recall that Apple had not yet implemented this screen because of the difficulties brought by the finesse of the MacBook Air… In addition, the Air being the cheapest MacBook (999 €), the Retina screen would generate a much higher cost of production and therefore of sale, which was not the objective of Apple with this model.
As a reminder, the Retina screen was present for the first time on the iPhone 4 and was then adopted by the MacBook Pro a few months later. You have to count for the basic model 300 € more (1499 € against 1199 €) to have the chance to benefit from this sublime resolution. It will therefore be necessary to wait a few months (for a drop in components?) Before perhaps seeing a Retina screen land on the MacBook Air.
