Pornhub now only accepts cryptocurrency payments

Pornhub will now only accept payments made in cryptocurrency. Deprived of Mastercard, Visa and PayPal, the pornographic site now invites Internet users to turn to Bitcoin, Monero or Ethereum to pay for their Premium subscriptions.

pornhub accused child pornography videos

A few days ago, a New York Times investigation unveiled the presence of numerous child pornography videos on Pornhub. “The site monetizes child rape, revenge porn, spy videos of women ” accused the investigation, with numerous testimonies in support. To calm things down, Pornhub has removed all videos posted by unverified users. From now on, all videos will be subject to verification to ensure that they meet the site’s terms of use. With this in mind, a team of moderators has been set up.

Despite Mindgeek’s efforts, parent company of Pornhub, Mastercard and Visa have decided to cut ties with the pornographic site. De facto, Internet users can no longer pay for premium content using their Visa or Mastercard credit card. By the end of 2019, PayPal had already blocked Pornhub in the same way. “If the models can no longer accept Visa and Mastercard, they will earn less money ” regrets Mindgeek.

Here are the 13 cryptocurrencies authorized by Pornhub to replace Mastercard and Visa

In response to the sanctions of Mastercard and Visa, Pornhub decided to allow payments in Monero, a cryptocurrency known to allow 100% anonymous transactions. Monero joins the long list of virtual currencies already authorized by the site owned by Mindgeek.

From now on, Internet users wishing to subscribe to Pornhub Premium, or purchase premium content from models, will have to use one of these 13 cryptocurrencies : Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dash (DASH), Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Litecoin (LTC), Monero (XMR), NEM (XEM), Tether (USDT), Tron ( TRX), Verge (XVG), ZCash (ZEC) and Waves (WAVES).
