Since the release of Pokemon Go early last month, the internet is full of gamers claiming to have captured a Legendary Pokemon, photomontage in support. Finally, it would seem that all this information is not false as confirmed by the Niantic studio on Business Insider on Wednesday.

Of the 151 first-generation Pokémon, 145 are officially available in the wild in Pokémon Go, with some peculiarities depending on the region. But six Pokémon are missing: the legendary Pokémon Mew, Mewtwo, Artikodin, Sulfura and Electhor, as well as the rare Pokémon Metamorph. So far, many jokers have tried to pretend that they managed to capture them in the wild, even though the Niantic studio had said that they would only be available duringspecial events. However, we learned this Wednesday that this could ultimately be the case.

Asked by the Business Insider site, Niantic has indeed confirmed that “Some legendary Pokémon have been registered in a few accounts when they shouldn’t have”. “To preserve the integrity of the game and for more justice, we have corrected the situation and deleted these Pokémon from the accounts of the players in question”says the developer. We can hardly imagine the disappointment of these few players who must have been particularly happy to find a Mewtwo in their Pokédex, before it disappears.

Niantic has still not announced how the various legendary Pokémon, as well as Metamorph, will be made available. It should be noted that out of the 145 Pokémon available, some are locked by region : Canarticho in Asia, Kangourex in Oceania, M. Mime in Europe and Tauros in America. However, they can be found everywhere using incubated eggs.
