At a conference on Wednesday, Google presented its new Pixelbook. Like the Chromebook Pixels of 2013 and 2015, it is a laptop with premium positioning running under the system Chrome OS, based on Google’s browser. Thus, we find the markers of the Chromebook Pixel range with an aluminum design, a thickness of only one centimeter, a weight of one kilogram and a 12.3 inch screen in 4: 3 format. In addition, it should be noted that the computer can adopt a tablet mode thanks to its screen which can rotate 360 degrees, but also a stylus, allowing it to be placed in competition with the Apple iPad Pro.
New Chromebook Pixel is available in several versions depending on the system requirements, with 128, 256 or 512 GB of SSD storage and 8 or 16 GB of RAM. On the processor side, the computer is powered by a Core i5 or Core i7. The battery should allow up to 10 hours of use. In addition, the portable PC also embeds theGoogle Assistant, available for the first time on a computer, but also Android applications thanks to the integration of the store Google Play.
Unfortunately, no availability has yet been announced for France. The Pixelbook will be available across the Atlantic from October 31, at a rate starting at 999 dollars (849 euros). Note also that the optional stylus will be marketed at the price of 99 dollars (84 euros).
