Three payment industry executives told Re / code that the owner of Paypal, as it happens eBay, expressed the will to help Apple to concretize its initiative to create a means of payment allowing the facilitation of the purchase of physical products in its Apple Stores.
These people, close to both the Cupertino company and PayPal, suggest that the latter would be ready to allow the use of certain parts of its payment service in a possible Apple mobile payment system. Two of them declare, however, that such a service is unlikely to be set up, even if this possibility is not completely excluded.
Apple would therefore like iPhone play a central role in purchasing goods in physical stores, although it is not yet clear what technologies (iBeacon?) could be used to complete these transactions.
