Panzer Paladin, The New Developer Game From Mercenary Kings Tribute Games, Releases This T

If you're a fan of retro-style platform games, you've probably heard of Tribute Games. Developer of Mercenary Kings, Ninja Denki and Flinthook, the Canadian team has just announced their latest title, and it's a pretty cool retro action platformer called Panzer Paladin.

It's a game that dresses you in the mighty Paladin power armor, allowing you to slap a bunch of hostile horrors with their own weapons, but where you can also become the quick little pilot when events demand. Patrice Bourgeault has a glorious and optimized 8-bit aesthetic, authentic soundtrack styles, and anything with assisting armor is automatically cool – I can hear you nod your head in agreement.

You are going to take all of this sophisticated technology into the battle against the forces of the occult, and there is a definite sense of Castlevania and Ghouls and Ghosts mixed with Megaman. Falling into the ridiculously cute and tiny pilot, it also seems like there are some nice platforms, sleepers and swings to do as well.

With the legacy of quality 2D pixel games from Tribute Games, expectations should be high for Panzer Paladin. Founded by former Ubisoft employees Jonathan Lavigne and Jean-Franois Major, who both worked on TMNT for Gameboy Advance and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, among other titles, has the know-how to transform something quite special. Mercenary Kings was a multiplayer favorite a few years ago, and our own Dave Irwin – well, he was ours at the time – called Flinthook an explosion playing in his review a few years ago.

The best of all? You don't have to wait that long for it to arrive, as it will be released this summer on PC and Nintendo Switch. You can check out the Steam page here if you want to get started right away and want it right away.
