Pampers now has a smart diaper that sends push notifications when your baby is wet

Parenthood can be a real struggle for parents these days, especially since both members must find an ideal work-life balance in caring for their baby. The process becomes even more complicated if you are under 20 with your first baby. However, Pampers now has something to help parents.

Lumi is a connected baby care system including activity tracker, layers and video monitor . The Activity Tracker is a removable gadget that monitors your baby throughout the day to collect necessary information and statistics about the baby. The data collected includes a sleep tracker that detects how long you sleep and a wet diaper check that lets parents know if the baby has urinated. However, there is no cutting edge implementation that detects urine here, which essentially means any form of liquid will trigger the sensor, like getting wet in the rain or pouring water into the sensor.

The video monitor is a 1080p wide-angle sensor with built-in night vision. It also tracks the ambient temperature and humidity so you can tell if the baby is feeling uncomfortable due to the weather conditions. Monitor video output can be viewed on the Lumi app available on iOS and Android. The app also allows you to enter additional information, such as the last time you fed the baby, in order to effectively follow their feeding schedule.

The app will also provide information based on the collected data in the form of visual graphs so that you or the doctor can analyze a pattern. Pampers has also promised personalized content from its team of baby development experts, in the form of tips and tricks.

Lumi availability is limited in the US from now and will be available from Fall 2019. You can get early access to the product by signing up to the waitlist by submitting your email address here . We expect Pampers to send Lumi to more countries in the near future. So what do you think of Lumi? Share your opinion in the comments.
