Apple has signed an agreement for the distribution for Apple TV + of a new documentary entitled "Visible: Out on Television", produced by Wanda Sykes.
As Variety reports, the series created by filmmakers Ryan White and Jessica Hargrave presents five episodes that examine the importance of television as an intimate media that has shaped American consciousness and how the LGBTQ movement has shaped television.
The one-hour episodes will explore themes that include the invisibility of the protagonists, homophobia, the evolution of LGBTQ characters, and broadcasting in the television sector.
In Visible: Out on Television, we will see archive footage featuring key players in the movement and the various stories told by Janet Mock, Margaret Cho, Asia Kate Dillon, Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Waithe. There will also be interviews with Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Anderson Cooper and other important figures.
“Visible: Out on Television” will debut on Apple TV + on February 14, 2020.
