From now on, Oppo is also one of the participants in the foldable phone race. The Mobielkopen site recently discovered a patent filed by the Chinese firm which explains a flexible smartphone concept.
The model in question shows the design of the future smartphone which, a priori, strangely resembles that presented by Samsung in November. It is only when unfolded that we notice major differences between the two patented products. Firstly, the Oppo device folds outwards and secondly, it uses a single folding screen on itself instead of the two separate ones offered by South Korean competition.

No mention was made concerning the characteristics, or the implementation or the availability of the telephone on the market. Note also that Oppo is not at its first try in terms of foldable phones. In 2017, the Chinese electronics brand patented a similar device, folding up and down and not sideways.
Therefore, the existence of this document does not allow to know if Oppo will pass the concept of the project to the product. However, it confirms the growing interest that manufacturers are devoting to the innovation of folding smartphones.
